2007-2008 Awarded Booklists

The new Bluebonnet, Lonestar and Tayshas reading lists for MS and HS students recommended by the Texas Library Association (TLA) have been published.  You may click on the attached link for details on titles: http://txla.org/html/reading.html
The library owns 27 titles on the lists and many more of the recommended books will be on their way to serve the Gorman readers.

Online Database Presentations

Mrs. Bekah Vickers who is working on her graduate degree in Library Science will be giving database search presentations to Gorman students as requested by teachers.  A general development session will be planned for faculty and staff.  Parents may contact Mrs. Wellmon if they are interested in such a training session to learn more about online database resources available at Gorman.     

Accelerated Reader News

Bowling & Lunch Party

This exciting event will be held in March for readers with 200 points, Readers of The Month, Perfect Readers and Non-fiction leaders.  The cut-off time to qualify is February 28, 2007.

3rd AR Store

The store is scheduled on March 22 in the MS Library. We are asking for your help again!  Please contact Mrs. Wellmon if you would like to join the 3rd store team or donate to the store (a special collection box is in the MS front office).
