Tayshas HS Reading Club

The Tayshas Reading Club is open to enrollment for all high school students. Members who have finished reading 12 books, including at least 7 Tayshas titles* by May 15, 2008 will receive a $20.00 gift card from the Library.

Electronic Resources

Gorman subscribes to many paid information/databases services, including Encyclopedia Britannica Online, Gale, EBSCO, NewBank and Discovery Education Streaming (formerly UnitedStreaming). The school Extranet and library webpage have links to access these sites for current, relevant and scholarly information. Access instructions are also online. First Store and Kick-off

Our heartfelt gratitude to Rosie Bellenfant and her team for the first ever AR Store held at the Holy Family Library. This fabulous store has set the tone for the rest of the season by motivating our readers. It’s wonderful to add a little excitement and joy to the world of reading. Many special thanks also go to Cecilia Alligood and local businesses like DQ, Chick-fil-A, Starbucks and Albertson for supporting the reading program.

The Second Store will be held on December 13 and 14. If you would like to contribute to or work at the store, please contact Bella Obach or Patricia Vasquez for details.

Dickson McKeller Is Six Flags Bound!

Congratulations to 6th grader Dickson McKeller for his outstanding reading record! Dickson is the first reader of this season to qualify for the year-end Six Flags trip by earning over 470 points as of October 26.   With the points he earned, Dickson also purchased the Marvericks game donated by Mr. Franz from the AR Store.  He and one of his friends will join Mr. Franz for a professional basketball game in teh near future.
