- Chess Club: Meets today at 7:30 a.m. in room 108.
- Sacrament of Reconciliation: Today at 7:45 a.m. in the Gorman chapel
- Administrative Team Meeting: Today at 8:45 a.m.
- Sixth Grade Meeting with Principal: Today at 9:35 in the Milam Joseph Center.
- Blood Drive: Today in the Haddad Gym from 9:00 until 1:00 p.m.
- Current 6th Grade Athletics Parent Meeting: Tuesday, April 29th at 6:00 p.m. in the cafeteria.
- The Middle Way Program: Meets today from 6- 8 in the Cathedral Center. The program is a part of the Cathedral's Safe Environment Efforts; it offers parents and guardians a balance to the task of parenting and helps with issues such as boundaries and discipline. - Athletic Physicals: Free athletic physicals provided by Trinity Mother Frances will be held Saturday, May 3rd at Health Park Plaza on Highway 110 near 5th Street. Gorman student-athletes will be seen beginning at 12:30 p.m. Physical packets need to be picked up in the school office and returned by Wednesday, April 30th. Directions to Health Park Plaza are included in the packet.
- 2008-2009 High School Christian Service: Mr. Reuter will be introducing the High School Christian Service Program to all 8th grade students during their Theology Block on Monday and Tuesday, April 28 and 29. On Tuesday evening, April 29 at 6:00 pm a parent meeting is scheduled in the Library. Any 8th grade parent who would like additional information on the program is invited to attend.
- AP Test Pre-Administration: Pre-administration session for students taking AP tests is Wednesday, April 30th 4th block in cafeteria. Students must pay for the tests at this time. Please bring a number #2 pencil. 1 test-$84.00. If you are taking more than one test, the first is $84.00 and the second one is $64.00.
- 2009 Italy Trip: Italy Trip meeting is Wednesday, April 30th in the cafeteria
- National Latin Exam Awards: Will be given after mass this Wednesday, April 30th.
- Engineering & Aviation Summer Program: Saint Louis University, a Catholic Jesuit University located in Saint Louis, MO sponsors the Parks Summer Academy . The Summer Academy is a week-long camp bringing together engineering, aviation and technology experts who will work with students in Parks' state-of-the-art facilities. The goal is to introduce current high school juniors ("rising seniors") to the latest technology and career opportunities in an enjoyable atmosphere. The camp runs from June 15-20 at a cost of $800. Participation in the Summer Academy is limited to high school students who will graduate in 2009 with a "B" average or better. Slots fill up on a first come, first serve basis to qualified applicants.
- Eight Grade Parents Memory Book Meeting: A memory book workshop for 8th grade parents will be held Wednesday, April 30th at 4:00pm in room 212 for anyone interested (come and go). There will also be a meeting at 6pm in room 212 to finalize plans for the graduation festivities. - Red Cross Swim Aide: The American Red Cross has volunteer opportunities for students age 12 or older to help teach children to swim. This program requires 8 hours of volunteer training and each swim camp is 16 hours long over a 2-week period. Contact David Anderson at Red Cross 903-581-7981 for more information.
- 2009 PTO Auction "Off to the Races" Kickoff Party: Come and bring a friend to the 2008-09 PTO Auction "Off to the Races" Kick Off party: May 9, 2008 from 6 pm to 9 pm at the home of Tiffany and Robert Monaghan, 1606 Cold Water, Tyler . See attachment for details of the event and Auction Wish List.
- Volunteers Needed for the PTO Auction 2008-09 "Off to the Races": Two positions need to be filled immediately: Chair Person(s) or Co chairs for Live Auction and for Underwriting. Both Underwriting and Live Auction already have a secretary available to help with the paperwork and organization. Our chairs Kara Camp, Rachel Gregory and Kathryn Droder will be there to support and assist these chairpersons at all levels. - Senior Graduation Stoles: There is a senior class meeting this morning at 8:00am to discuss graduation issues. One of items for discussion is that of tradition of the stoles that seniors wear with their graduation gowns, which represent the colors of the college/university where they will study in the fall. The stoles have always been made by volunteer parents. Any parent interested in continuing this tradition by volunteering their time and talent to make the stoles are encouraged to contact Mrs. Manley by e-mail.
- St. Vicent de Paul: Is in need of children's summer clothes. Donations can be dropped off on Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays @ SVdP on the corner of Front & College (Saleh Building).
