  • Final Report Cards: Were mailed from the school Monday along with Stanford scores for students in grades 6-11.
  • World War II Summer Bridge Class: Continues through next week. Today the group is on Field Trip to the Battleship Texas and Galveston.
  • TCU Summer Reading Classes: Began at Gorman on Monday and continue with classes for ages 4 through adult through the end of July.
  • Self Defense for Women Summer Bridge: Begins Monday, June 16, 2008.
  • Booster Club Meeting: Wednesday, June 18, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria.
  • AP English III Summer Reading Discussion Group: Meets June 19, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. in the school office.
  • All East Texas Track and Field: Congratulations to the following Gorman students who were selected by the Tyler Morning Telegraph as part of the prestigious All East Texas Track and Field Team.

  • Advanced Placement Statistics - Spring, 2008. Gorman students take Advanced Placement (AP) Classes in their junior and seniors years. The AP tests are developed by college professors from around the United States. The rigor of the exams is meant to replicate the critical thinking, analysis and writing skills equivalent to that of college freshman.

  • Feast of Sts. Peter and Paul: All students, parents and friends are invited to write their name and a simple prayer, scripture quote, their school, hobby etc. on a "living stone" to be buried in the foundation of the new Sts. Peter and Paul Chapel on the Gorman campus. The Cathedral Community will celebrate the Feats of Sts. Peter and Paul with a ground and "living stone" blessing on the Feast of Sts. Peter and Paul, June 29, 2008.
  • Lost and Found: Is on a display table on the east wall of the cafeteria. Parents, guardians and students are encouraged to review the piles of lost and found items to reclaim anything lost before items are sent to charity in mid-June.
  • Used Uniform Sale: Begins this week in the MS hallway and continues through the beginning of August.
  • Catholic Teaching & Current Events: Sr. Sarah Kohles, OSF is offering a series of four sessions on Wednesday evenings which will cover Church teachings from relevant documents in regards to the following: July 16th - Immigration: Is There a Catholic Response?; July 23rd - Inter-Faith Dialogue: How Are Catholics Called to Approach Those of Different Faiths? July 30th - Just War: When is War Considered Justifiable by the Church? August 6th - Faithful Citizenship: How Can Catholics be Faithful During an Election Year? The group will meet: 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the Cathedral Center
