A two-semester survey course of American history from discovery to the present. Being equivalent to freshman college courses, this study will emphasize critical, analytical and evaluative thinking skills, essay writing, and interpretation of original documents and historic events.
Classes will be a combination of lecture, group work, and discussions. Additionally, outside reading assignments and research papers will be assigned. Throughout the year, students will engage in preparatory assignments for the AP exam with practice free-response and Document Based essays.
