Overview

A private local foundation has generously provided funding to help defray the cost of visiting out-of-state colleges. The intent of the donor is to help seniors whose family might not otherwise be able to afford the expense of visiting out-of-state colleges, seriously consider attending a college or university outside of the state of Texas.

Rationale

With a clear appreciation for the future of the City of Tyler as a growing, vibrant and prosperous center of business for East Texas, this organization seeks to expose students to a more global experience. They believe that many of these students will return to Tyler only to infuse the community with innovative ideas and those that do not return will transplant an important piece of Tyler where ever they settle.
