ND Summer Scholars is a unique opportunity for academically outstanding high school students to explore one of thirteen academic fields of study.

Each summer approximately 800 students are invited to each military academy for a Leadership Training Camp.  This is an excellent opportunity to determine if a military academy is a good fit for your college choice.  Timing is very important, see Mrs. Manley for details.  Limited scholarships are available.

Nominations are now being accepted for the 48th Annual Summer Program in Biomedical Sciences at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.

Texas Tech University: Located in Lubbock, TX, Texas Tech University boasts an enrollment, including Law and Graduate Schools but not including programs at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center, of 28,200. Last year they conferred 176 doctoral degrees, 226 law degrees, 1,143 master’s degrees, and 4,316 bachelor’s degrees.

The State Farm^® Texas Scholar Athlete Program recognizes students throughout Texas who exhibit leadership and good citizenship in both academics and athletics. Fifty student-athletes will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Hillsdale College , a Christian, top 100 Liberal Arts college, located in Hillsdale, MI is coming to visit the Gorman campus on Thursday, Spetember 13th during the junior/senior lunch block. An ideal student-to-faculty ratio of 10-to-1, rigorous academics, intramural sports, national fraternity and sorority houses and widespread community volunteerism nurture intellectual, physical, social and personal growth.

Saint Mary's College at Notre Dame, located in South Bend, IN is an all female Catholic college founded by the Sisters of the Holy Cross. Class size averages at 16 with a student/faculty ratio of 11/1. Saint Mary's is located across the street from Notre Dame University and offers many co-educational and social opportunities on the Notre Dame campus.

College of the Southwest located in Hobbs NM is a small NAIA Christian college with an emphasis on students who want to earn a teacher's certificate. They offer certifications in Elementary, Secondary, Bilingual and Special Educaiton . CSW offeres significant scholarship for Academics, Athletics and other areas of special talent such as Band or Choir.

The National Youth Leadership Forum on National Security (NYLF/NS): Exploring American Diplomacy, Intelligence and Defense provides an intense and stimulating exploration of the field of government service for high school sophomores, juniors and seniors. This six-day program introduces students to challenging careers in defense, intelligence, the diplomatic corps and more.  Eligible students must have a GPA of at least a 3.7 or 92.5 to be considered for the program.  Please see Mrs. Manley if you are interested in being nominated for this professional experience.
